In February, 2008 your Board of Directors held a special
meeting to discuss past issues with the pool and potential changes we could
implement to make the swimming pool a more enjoyable place for all. About a
dozen residents attended this meeting and offered many good suggestions to
the Board. After serious consideration, the Board has decided to implement a
couple of the changes that were suggested. The intent of this letter is to
notify you of these changes.
One of the changes that will be implemented is the use of a
pool pass that must be worn by every resident and guest using the pool. The
pool pass will consist of a metal tag that looks similar to a military
dog-tag. The pool pass must be visibly worn by every swimmer. The tag will
come with a chain, but every resident can choose for themselves how he/she
will wear the tag or attach the tag to their swimsuit. The only requirement
is that the tag be visible.
In order to receive your pool passes, you must provide proof
of residency and a photo ID. The proof of residency should include your name
and address and be something like a water bill, electric bill, etc.
With the resident pool passes, you will be provided two (2)
guest pool passes that will look very similar to the resident passes but
will differ in color. Additional guest passes will be available for purchase
for $25.00 each. If you choose not to purchase additional passes and you
bring more than two guests, each additional guest will be charged $5.00 to
swim.
Another change the Board is implementing is the use of a paid
pool monitor. The pool monitor will be a uniformed guard assigned to the
pool on specific days and hours. Starting Saturday May 3rd, the
pool monitor will be at the pool every Saturday and Sunday. When school is
out for the summer, the pool monitor will be there every day of the week
till the pool closes. The responsibilities of the pool monitor will include
but not be limited to the following:
This coming season, enforcement of the pool rules is going to
be taken more seriously. Every homeowner has a right to enjoy the pool
without being harassed or intimidated by any other resident or guest. The
Board is going to take a no tolerance stance this summer when issues arise
at the pool. Those who violate the rules of the pool will be asked to leave
and access to the common areas will be revoked. The common areas are
considered private property and available only to residents of Parkwood Hill
Estates. Any person within the common areas that does not have a legitimate
right to be there is considered trespassing.
Your Board of Directors is asking all residents for their
assistance in monitoring the pool to help eliminate the issues that we have
had for the last two summers. I know that with your assistance, and the
assistance of all residents within our HOA, we can make the pool a fun place
to be for all families of our association. You, as a resident of Parkwood
Hill Estates, have the right and the obligation to assist the Board
in enforcing the pool rules. Should you ever feel threatened we advise that
you call the non-emergency Police number at (817) 335-4222. Our neighborhood
Police contact for our area is Officer Tonya Clapp. Ofc. Clapp can be
reached at (817) 392-4690 should you ever need to voice a NON-HOA POLICE
related issue.
Please feel free to contact any of your Board of Directors
should you have any questions.
On behalf of the Board of Directors,
Bryon K. Chesser
PHE HOA President
